Charlotte Smithson

 Charlotte Smithson is an artist and designer who works across disciplines. Her career in the cultural sector spans 15 years. Charlotte works extensively with galleries, museums, heritage organisations and other public spaces across the UK to design visitor experiences that tell stories. She offers consultancy in interpretation, content development and creative community engagement. Her portfolio includes projects with the National Trust, Edinburgh World Heritage, English Heritage and the Science Museum Group.

 

Charlotte founded Festoon in 2018 as a platform for creating visual art installations that use natural materials. Festoon fuses her love of nature with immersive experiential design. With interests in science, botany and history Charlotte’s work is grounded in research, reading and observation.

Charlotte has exhibited her botanical installations nationally, including the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, End of the Road festival in Dorset, Bloom! York. She was the joint winner of the New Covent Garden’s British Flowers Week Competition 2018 at the Garden Museum, London. 

Charlotte Smithson is proud to be a member and support the aims and objectives of the trade organisation ACID (Anti Copying in Design). All Charlotte Smithson’s designs are supported by ACID through their IP Databank and ACID Marketplace.
